Sketching vintage inspired bugs for Theo

Today the family spent some time outside planting some zinnias, forsythia, and some wildflowers in a section of the backyard that we call the "Meadow". Kipling kept us company. 

This past year I've been sketching a lot of bugs to go on wallpaper for a friend's kids' room. I had been thinking about creating a pattern collection in the spirit of late 19th century "Cabinets of Curiosities", so this wallpaper pattern is inspired by scientific entomology drawings. I inked all my sketches and had fun with a bit of photo shoot around the meadow and in my husband's vegetable garden today. Enjoy!
